Strawberry Press Magazine ran from July, 2003 to June, 2004. The magazine published writers from all over the world, and was originally distributed at St Mark's Bookshop in the East Village of New York City, and the mini-mall in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Each issue is now available as a PDF. Check out an issue link below, and click on the magazine image to download the issue.

This website in its current state exists more or less as an archive of these magazine issues. Strawberry Press Magazine is not currently active. You never know though-- it might come roaring back at some later date and once again add a little flavor, sauce and bada-bing to the literary world! (Lawd knows the publishing industry could use some!)

In all seriousness, though, Strawberry Press Magazine was a fairly humble affair. We operated in the mindset that much of the current literary fiction we were encountering in the early 2000s was uninspired and unispiring, and there must be a lot of unheard weird wonderful voices out there. A lot has changed since then, and the internet has allowed for a lot of new interesting voices to arise, and we like to think Strawberry Press Magazine in its humble way was part of that surge of energy and creativity that characterized those early years of online+print zine culture. Of course, there still isn't enough diversity in commercial publishing, as many recent movements have brought to attention.

Feel free to browse the back issues and take a look at some of the work we published. It's hard to believe so much time has passed! Many of the writers have gone on to publish novels with major publishing houses, and others have continued inspiring and productive underground careers. All of the writers for the magazine had (and have) an abundance of talent, and we are proud to have been a part of this venture. Feel free to contact us with comments or questions. --- The (former) editors, June 5, 2020.
